3500050 3M Protecta Rebel Horizontal Use Extension Sling , 1.50 m
Capital Safety 3M Fall Protection
3M Protecta Rebel Extension Sling can be used with Rebel SRLs to meet horizontal sharp edge requirement standard VG 11
The Rebel SRL with the 3500050 sling has been successfully tested and certifi ed for horizontal use over a Type A edge with a maximum user weight of 140 Kg.
Type A Edge Definition: The Rebel SRL and Rebel Sling passed testing over a burr free steel edge with a radius (r) of 0,5 mm. The equipment is qualified for use over similar edges, as can be found on: rolled steel profiles, wooden beams, or clad or rounded roof parapets. However, the following shall be considered when the equipment is used in a horizontal or transverse arrangement and a risk of fall from a height over an edge exists:
1. If the risk assessment carried out before the start of the work shows that the edge is very “sharp” and/or not “free of burrs” (such as in the case of an unclad roof parapet, a rusty girder, or a concrete edge): • Relevant measures shall be taken before the start of the work to prevent a fall over the edge; or • before the start of work, an edge protection shall be mounted; or • the manufacturer shall be contacted.
2. The anchor point may only be situated at the same height as the edge at which a fall might occur or above the edge.
3. The angle of redirection of the lanyard at the edge at which a fall might occur (measured between the two sides formed by the redirection lanyard) shall be at least 90 degrees.
4. The required clearance below the edge at which a fall might occur must be enough so the user does not hit the ground or an object. 5. To reduce the potential for a fall ending in a pendulum movement, the working area or lateral movement on either side of the center axis shall be limited to a maximum of 1.50 m.
For all other situations, only EN 795 Class C or Class D anchor points shall be used.
Note:- The Rebel SRL can only be used in horizontal applications when it is connected to the Capital Safety Sling (ref. 3500050).
