Search And Rescue Transmitter (SART) For Life rafts, The McMurdo SmartFind S5A AIS SART further enhances the Seas of Solutions search and rescue beacon range. The AIS SART’s are a cost-effective alternative to the traditional radar SART and supersede our previous models of AIS SART.
Designed to be stored in a liferaft or as a carry off device and stored in a quick release carry off bag, the rugged S5 Smartfind is buoyant and waterproof to a depth of 10m. When activated, the S5 transmits an alert message to trigger an alarm on all AIS equipped vessels within VHF range. The in-built GPS provides accurate location information for rescuers, enabling them to quickly locate you.
